Botulism takes its name from the Latin for sausage.

Emboldened, we’ve ordered a Gin still.
My second go at sculpting something, this one went went quite well I think.
In December I was invited by a friend to go to see an exhibition called Wild Thing at the Royal Academy. Obviously I was sure the company would be excellent (thank you), but I’d not really been expecting much from the exhibition.
It quickly became clear I’d not been looking at the right stuff though, because the work was amazing.
The exhibition was a retrospective of the three early 20th century sculptors (and typographers), Epstein, Gaudier-Brzeska and Gill. It turned out that they were all self taught, and had basically just got stuck in (to a number of relative and animals in Gill’s case).
It looked like it might be quite good fun (sculpting), and for Christmas my family gave me some stone and sculpting tools, and I had a go.
I’d started out with an offcut that looked a bit like a fish, and was planning to increase its fishiness.
It’s full of first time mistakes, and I think I preferredĀ it before I waxed it. But it’s given me a bit of taste for it.
